Contemporary Drawing for Teens (Y04)

Every artist needs a strong understanding of drawing. Develop traditional skills through innovative exercises in a variety of mediums. Fun and challenging exercises will make use of new tools and techniques and expand the definition of ‘drawing’.

Perspective, color, proportion, and form are the basic building blocks for both 2D and 3D art. Enjoy intriguing and creative projects while exploring the many ways to use pencil, pastel, and paint. Express yourself with papier mâché and art made with found objects. Both individual and group instruction encourages personal exploration in this informal group setting.

Discover the magical qualities of clay! Make all kinds of wonderful creations while learning basic hand-forming techniques such as coil, pinch, or slab. Supply fee includes 25 pounds of clay, glazes and firing. Students must register at least one week in advance.
Painting with Acrylics for Teens (Y05)

Explore composition, color usage and all other aspects of painting in acrylics while working on a still life or subject of your choice. Through demonstrations of techniques and individual attention, students will advance at their own pace. Weekly assignments will optimize the learning experience.
