Learn to use electricity as a form of expression. Remote controlled art will blend basic electronics, a remote controlled car, wood, paint, glue, screws, wires, switches, lights, found objects and imagination to create your very own traveling art.
Rube Goldberg Machine (AA27)

Rube Goldberg is best known for a series of popular cartoons depicting complex gadgets that perform simple tasks in indirect, elaborate ways. After learning basic woodshop safety and techniques, you’ll explore your inner creativity to draw, measure, cut, nail, glue, paint, sand, join, disassemble, and reassemble your very own Rube Goldberg machine.

Students will use a variety of hand building and or wheel techniques to assemble a ceramic vessel. The focus will be on concept, design, and fabrication of one or more sculptural vessels. Some experience with hand-building and/or wheel throwing is helpful but not required. Bring rough sketches of your ideas for a sculptural vessel to the first class.
Supply fee includes 25 pounds of clay, glazes and firing. Students must register at least one week in advance.

Get excited and ready to create! Design, model and assemble your own sculpture using wood and found objects. Bring your own materials or select from our supply. Learn how to saw, shape, fasten and finish your wood sculpture. A variety of woodworking techniques and current sculpture trends will be discussed. Woodshop orientation and safety procedures are taught during the first class.
